On November 30th 2013, I had the opportunity to experience a Lego League Tournament for middle and elementary school students. It took place at Emery Collegiate Institute, where Sammy Benyamin kindly invited everyone in our AQ course (Integration of Information & Computer Technology) to this event. I was simply amazed at the amount of work these students put into their Lego creations. The collaboration, the creativity, the communication, and the elements of critical thinking involved in these creations was unbelievable. It truly highlighted 21st century learning. This activity made several curriculum connections such as science, math, drama and included technology as well. It was evident that through this tournament students felt empowered and proud of their accomplishments. Congratulations to all the students that participated!!
Today I was involved in a StopMotion creation in my AQ course- Integration of Information & Computer Technology. This is a fun and engaging way to have students involved in project based learning. I collaborated with Amanda Pulla to create this video.
